What an apostille actually is
An apostille is a certificate that makes a US document legally valid in another country. If you are getting married in Italy, enrolling in a Spanish university, adopting from Colombia, or taking a job in South Korea, someone over there is going to ask for one.
It comes from the Secretary of State in the state that issued your document. Not from us, and not from the federal government, unless the document itself is federal. FBI background checks and other federal records go through the US Department of State in Washington instead.
If the destination country did not sign the Hague Convention, an apostille is not enough. The UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait are the ones we see most. (China and Canada both joined the Hague Convention recently and now take an apostille; full member list.) Those need full embassy legalization, which is more steps and more time. We handle that too, and we tell you which one you need before you pay.
How fast is fast
Honest answer: it depends on the state, and we do not control that part.
What we control is our end. How fast your documents get reviewed, prepared correctly, and put in front of the right office. Expedited means we are working on it within one business day and hand-delivering or overnighting where the state allows it.
What we do not control is the Secretary of State's queue. Some states turn around in two days. Some take three weeks no matter what anyone pays. Anyone promising you a same-day apostille in all 50 states is not telling you the truth.

What is an apostille?
A certificate attached to a US document that makes it legally valid in another country that belongs to the Hague Apostille Convention. It confirms the signature and seal on the document are genuine. It is issued by the Secretary of State of the state that issued the document, or by the US Department of State for federal documents.
How much does an apostille cost?
Our service fee is $99 standard, $199 rush, or $299 expedited per document. State filing fees and return shipping are additional and vary by state. We quote the exact total before you pay anything.
How long does an apostille take?
It depends on the state. Our end is fast: expedited orders are worked within 1 to 3 business days. The Secretary of State's own queue is added on top of that and ranges from a couple of days to several weeks depending on the state. Tell us your deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Do I have to be in Kansas?
No. Documents go to the state that issued them, wherever you live. You mail them to us in Wichita, we route them to the right office, and we mail them back to any US address.
Do you need my original document?
Usually yes, or a certified copy issued by the state or county. Photocopies cannot be apostilled. If you are not sure what you have, send a photo with your quote request and we will tell you.
